Turkish club Trabzonspor has completed the signing of veteran French midfielder Florent Malouda after he was released from Chelsea.
The former France international has been signed by the Turkish club despite reports linking with several clubs from across Europe including offers to return home to France but according to reports on the official website of the club, their ambition was something that led the Frenchman to sign for the club.

There were several offers on the table for the French winger, who was the last signing of Jose Mourinho in his first reign as Chelsea manager, including from several Premier League clubs but the Frenchman refused to lower his wage demands and many clubs baulked at the demands of a player who has played just one professional game in the last season, having told to train alone or with the youth teams under Roberto di Matteo and Rafael Benitez.
Chelsea signed Florent Malouda back in 2007 for a fee of £ 13.5 million from French powerhouse club Lyon and he played at the top of his game for a few months but after losing his form, never managed to reach the peaks that were expected of him when he was signed. The player, who is a UEFA Champions League winner with Chelsea has passed his medical at the club and has signed a multi-year deal, although the financial details have not been released by the club.
Florent Malouda recently spoke to the English media that he wants to go to a club where he will get regular first team football and not experience what he had in his last season at Chelsea, admitting that it was the most difficult time of his career so far. The Frenchman will add depth to his ne club’s midfield as they get ready for the UEFA Europa League campaign.
