DELHI DYNAMOS SET FOR NEW SEASON

Indian Super League club Delhi Dynamos are set for the new campaign, after enjoying a promising pre season tournament.


They played a few clubs in Sweden as they rounded off preparations for the new campaign. They thrashed Swedish side Assyriska 3-2 in their last match in Sweden.

Flourent Malouda, who returned to the club after time away in Egypt, was also on the score sheet. Kean Lewis, and Arjun Tudu contributed a goal each as the marquee signings proved their worth. Dynamos ensured they didn’t lose a game as they prepared for the new season. They enjoyed victories, and played just one draw in Sweden.

In the game against Assyriska, Dynamos launched intensive attack from the beginning, leaving the hosts to defend. Assyriska defenders did well to stop all the attempts from Dynamos attack. In the second half, Dynamos broke the deadlock from the free kick spot. Marcelo took the kick, and former French player Malouda made no mistake as he scored via a header.

The goal forced the Swedes to come all out. They got an equlaizer through a long rage strike from Ahrun Cicek. The first half ended. After the recess, Dynamos got a second through a solo effort from Kean. The goal weakend the opoosition. Tudu took advantage to score the third. The host pulled one back before the game ended with an effort from Miheal Jevtic.

The game ended the pre season tour of Dynamos. They started with a trip to the United Kingdom before flying to france. Dynamos coach Gianluca Zambrotta said:
“It’s been a satisfying outing for us, and I am happy that the team is gelling well and communication on and off the field is strong. The results of this were seen in our match today where all the boys linked in well to ensure we were ahead of them throughout the game.”
