Athletico Madrid striker, Fernando Torres has said that the international break has come at the right time for the Spanish team.

He believes that this will allow the players to have a breather and recharge their batteries.

Athletico Madrid’s title hopes were dented on Saturday when they were beaten at Sporting Gijon. Their previous defeat in La Liga came on January 30th. The defeat ended a nine-game unbeaten run for Athletico Madrid and put them nine points behind leader, Barcelona.

Malouda makes his way to Egypt as he joins WadiDegla

Even at the age of 35, FlorentMalouda has not shown any signs of hanging up his boots and retiring as he continues performing consistently and it has recently been announced that the French player has joined WadiDegla of Egpyt.

WadiDegla is an Egyptian side that is performing in the Premier League of Egypt and they are positioned in the bottom spots of the league with only a few points separating them from the relegation zone but with this new signing, the head chiefs of the club are hoping that Malouda can help push the club into the higher section of the standings.

MALOUDA FRUSTRATED

France winger Florent Malouda said his side were frustrated despite maintaining their four-point cushion in Euro 2012 qualifying with a 1-1 draw in Belarus.

Malouda scored an immediate equaliser after Eric Abidal’s own goal had given Belarus the lead, but the hosts held on for a result which means they have now taken four points off Les Bleus and lie second in Group D.

Sergei Kislyak’s late goal had given Belarus a 1-0 win in Paris in September and Malouda said: ‘The feeling is of disappointment because we came here to make up for the points we lost at the Stade de France. It was great to see all the kids in the crowd in their Malouda Kits supporting me, but sadly we couldn’t make the pressure count.

MALOUDA LIKES BRAZIL

Chelsea’s Florent Malouda was born in South America region but he has married a Brazil girl, so he wants to end his career with playing in Brazil team.He even admits to childhood dreams about playing for Brazil, who he will line up against for France in an international friendly on Wednesday.

“I feel Brazilian,” Malouda told Le Parisien. “My wife is from Brazil, my children are half Brazilian and my in-laws are Brazilian.

“And then, Guiana and Brazil are very similar. There is a mix of cultures in Guiana with a strong Brazilian community. “I would finish my career there,” he said. “It’s a challenge I’d like. Playing in England and Brazil, two countries of football, it would be nice.”

He is one of the few players in the world to hold the title of being a one club man. Totti represents more than just 20 years of service for Roma. Paris St Germain continued their dominance of the French league

Paris St Germain continued their dominance of the French league with a 2-0 victory against Bastia, but manager Laurent Blanc was a relieved man after this game since he felt that it was always going to be a very difficult encounter.

PSG have now taken four consecutive victories in the domestic league. The team will be hoping to continue this run into the Champions League were a difficult game against Real Madrid awaits them. For the time being, this victory againstBastia gives them some breathing space at the top of the French league.

Malouda joined the French side Metz on September of 2014 but it hasn’t been going well for the experienced midfielder as he only managed to score 3 goals in 28 appearances and the 35 year old player is now being connected with a possible move to the Indian Super League as well as with the Argentinean club River Plate.

According to a close source who knows what is going around involving the current situation of FlorentMalouda and a possible move to the Indian League, the source said: “Yes, he has been approached. He seems interested in coming to India. He might probably be the guy,”

Metz struggling at Start of French League

Metz have been one for his teams in Europe this season. The French club are struggling at the foot of the French Ligue One and the prospect of attaining safety in the remaining few months of the campaign look highly unlikely.

The club are four points adrift of safety after having played 24 matches. Despite this, manager Albert Cartier was confident ahead of the match against table leaders Lyon that his team could avoid relegation with improved consistency. The trip to face Lyon is almost certainly likely to end up as a defeat given that Lyon are showing the kind of form that gave them seven league titles in succession.
