QPR have managed just four victories all season long. Hence, it is going to require a monumental effort from the players in order to manage a similar amount of victories from only eight matches. QPR came into the match against Aston Villa on the back of a recent good run of form, which has seen them win back-to-back matches for the first time in the Premier league. However, late winner from the striker Christian Benteke eased their relegation fears for Villa, while piling more pressure on Redknapp. Even though the team have matches against relegation threatened opponents like Wigan in the last few matches, getting five victories is going to be a tough ask.
“We need to win four or five games. It is not impossible. While there is hope, you keep believing. It is hard with the points situation, but we cannot be playing any better. We are playing very well, that is all we can do. With eight games to go, we need to keep trying to win the games. If we can do that, we can still do it. We could have been three or four goals up at half-time, it was that one-sided,” said Redknapp.
